It's a kind of magic

It's Sunday night.

I am sunburnt due to day spent in the garden reading what is turning out to be a fantastic new Harry Potter adventure and I'm now listening to a new song from the wonderful Death Cab for Cuite courtesy of MySpace and its sounding just quite wonderful....not unlike New Order actually.

I should also say that I've just had an open air salad and half a bottle of very nice red wine.

ah bollocks, I've just found out accoridng to their bio that Kids in Glasshouses were playing the barfly with The Blackout tonight. they might be replacing The Blackout actually as they filled in for them a couple of weeks ago at the Ifor Bach.

So yes, hello. It;s been a very pleasant weekend.

the usual Friday night fare of TV. vanessa's exit from Big Brother was only overdue by about a month.

Got up early on saturday morning to go buy the aforementioned Harry Potter book and went to an early showing of Wedding Crashers. An okay film, most chucklesome in parts. It's nowhere near Anchorman style laugh out loud funny but it's definitely worth checking out. If only for the fact that there is lots of boobs in it :-)

Mooched around Cardiff for a while then though all i wanted to do was go home and get stuck in to harry!!

Did the How young are you test thing last night on the BBC. Turns out i am 3.5 months younger than I am. I probably could have shaved another two months off that by eating fish every week.

Today I've sat in the garden all day and read Harry Potter...its been great, i so don't want to go back to work tomorrow.

So, I might be joining Mark's band too. he mentione it last weekend at REM that he was looking for a seconf guitarist and even though i have limited guitar skills i expressed an interest. he dropped by a CD of their songs last night. They're really not bad....kind of jokey pop punk....like J Mascis from Dinosaur Jr fronting Blink 182 :-) Anyway, he's going to teach what seems the pretty simple guitar parts and then we'll see what happens.

Trying to persuade Mark to come see Motion City Soundtrack at the Barfly in September. I don't own any of their records but the more I listen to them on PureVolume, the more I love this band!!!

i've seen them twice now, supporting AAR, and on the Warped Tour last summer. They're infectiously good fun.

Yeah, I really want to go...especially as its in the teeny weeny Barfly too.

I saw them when they came over to support Blink 182 about 18 months ago. I wasn;t impressed at first but then the played The Future Freaks Me Out - WOOT!

Stu....is the old AAR stuff as good as the new stuff? Cos the new stuff is frankly, quite brilliant!!
